New developing and useful turpentine derivative-Dihydroterpinyl Acetate

2026/10/15

Dihydroterpinyl Acetate CAS No.: 58985-18-5 has fresh warm pine-woody mildly herbaceous cologne-like facets and subtle peppery undertones.

Dihydroterpinyl Acetate is a synthetic fragrance ingredient used in perfumery to provide a fresh, woody note.

It is valued by perfumers for this distinctive character and used as a building block within larger fragrance compositions.

Dihydroterpinyl Acetate has milder odor when compared with Terpineol or Terpinyl Acetate.

It is well used in fragrance, solvent, conductive paste, glass paste, film paste, electrode slurry for MLCC etc.

The applications of Dihydroterpinyl Acetate is wide. According to the present researches, Dihydroterpinyl Acetate can be used to make developer. The invention belongs to material field (Patent CN105319879A).

Dihydroterpinyl Acetate can be used for detergent, such as soap, and other perfumed compositions.

Although Dihydroterpinyl Acetate has already been known for many years and the fact that Terpinyl Acetate has been known for a long time for its olfactory properties, no one until now recognized the unique olfactory properties of Dihydroterpinyl Acetate. It may well be that the reason for this omission stems from the fact that the closely-related linalyl acetate is weakened in odor qualities when it is hydrogenated. It was therefore surprising to us that we found that the odor of Dihydroterpinyl Acetate is not only as strong as that of Terpinyl Acetate (Patent US2889254A).
